HOTEL REVIEW: O Monot Boutique Hotel, Beirut!
In a city as diverse as Beirut, accommodation options are endless. 5-star chains, boutique hotels, Airbnb and homestays are all available.
On your search, consider O Monot Boutique Hotel.
A relative newcomer, O Monot Hotel opened in 2014. Independently owned and operated, O Monot Hotel offers laidback sophistication in a central location.
Let’s take a look inside.
First Impressions.
You’ll find the hotel on Monot Street in Saifi (on the border of Ashrafieh).
A stylish lobby and lounge greet guests as they check into this 41 room boutique hotel.
Designed by Interior Architect Claude Missir, function plays as much of a role as sensory pleasure. Neutral shades are enhanced by accents of amethyst throughout the property.

Dine in the 10th-floor restaurant all day with views of Downtown and the Mediterranean Sea. Sink into Chesterfields in front of an open fire during winter with cocktails in hand.
From sharing platters to traditional Lebanese cuisine and pub favourites, the restaurant has an option for everyone.
Start your day with a breakfast spread of western and Lebanese dishes. Eggs, the way you like them, are prepared to order accompanied by big breakfast must-haves; mushrooms, bacon, tomatoes and foul – a dish made from broad beans or chickpeas.
#drink
In winter, remain by the open fire in the restaurant lounge. In the warmer months ascend to the rooftop and enjoy cocktails by the pool.
With unobstructed scenic views through glass barriers, capture the eclectic architecture of Beirut. Poolside dining is also available.
If you’re meeting friends or business associates, the ground floor lobby lounge serves coffee and cocktails all day.
Take a stool at the bar and grill the staff for entertainment and sightseeing recommendations, or commandeer an alcove for private conversations.
#explore
The rooftop pool has a sunlounger with your name on it. Grab your book or take a power nap while soaking up some vitamin D.
The pool attracts hotel guests and locals on weekends for sundowners and private events.
A modest fitness centre helps control the possible excess baggage from Beirut’s delicious cuisine.
For the business traveller, a private meeting room is available on the 9th floor. Seating 15 with catering arranged by the hotel, this is a perfect place for negotiations and presentations.
#shop
Located across the road, the very chic Saifi Village is an upscale art & design district. Traditional in character, offering a contemporary concept in one convenient location.
Local and international boutique designers join art galleries, speciality concept stores, restaurants and cafés.
At Saifi Village call into Bokja, design duo Huda Baroudi and Maria Hibri’s repurposed upcycled home store.
Gathering textiles throughout Central Asia and MENA, their designs are a reflection of Beirut, a complex layering opposing contemporary minimalism and revelling in “more is more”.
With yoga studios, hair salons and beauty rooms, an entire day can be spent at Saifi Village.

O Monot Boutique Hotel’s entry-level Deluxe rooms are a good size at almost 30 sqm. Decorated with chic neutrals and amethyst accents, lighting, storage and the workstation are well designed.
Executive rooms provide a little more space at 33 sqm and suites with walk-in wardrobes, lounge and dining areas range from 53 – 68 sqm.
All room categories include an all-important Nespresso coffee machine with complimentary daily pods. A well-stocked mini-bar and snacks keep the wolf from the door if you choose a night in and there’s room service, of course.
The Verdict.
Service from the front door to the rooftop bar is friendly yet unobtrusive. Nothing is too much trouble and for directions, entertainment suggestions and Beirut highlights, staff offer inside information.
The owner pops in to chat with guests and keeps an eye on things. At his own admission, O Monot Boutique Hotel is his baby. A phoenix rising from the ashes of an abandoned building.
The location is central and perfect for following our Beirut Guide on foot, exploring Downtown, Ashrafieh, Gemmayze and Mar Mikhael.

The question is always, would I stay here again? The answer is a resounding yes! O Monot Boutique Hotel deserves its firm position on our list of hotels we love….

That view from rooftop is gorgeous. I personally like a good hotel whose stuff can give some insider info on good dining, things to do or basic directions. Glad you had a good stay there.
Thanks, it was a really lovely #stay. We’ll definitely book O Monot Boutique Hotel when we return to Beirut. 🙂
Great boutique hotel and with a rooftop view. I like the interior design too. It looks very nice.
It was a really comfortable hotel in a great location with fantastic service. That roodtop was such a bonus. 🙂
Whao.. They have soke crazy stuff on their menu. I am a foodie at heart and this post just made me hungry. I hope i can check this place out someday?
I hope so too, Sakshi. 🙂
I always like the concept of boutique hotel and love the fact that its perfect for exploring BEIRUT on foot. The deluxe room with neutral accents fascinates me like anything 🙂
O Monot Boutique Hotel is in a perfect location for wandering around on foot. You can walk to pigeon rocks and Hamra from there too, it’s not that far. There’s so much to see in Beirut and O Monot Boutique Hotel is a great place to see it from. 🙂
What a lovely boutique hotel you found. Boutique hotels are my favorite and this is perfectly hidden just a way from traffic. This would be one that I would love to stay in. I must make a trip and visit Beirut. #feetdotravel
We love boutique hotels too, Stephanie and this was a great find. Perfect for a Beirut adventure. We would definitely stay here again. 🙂
You stay in gorgeous hotels! Plus, seems like those hotels have delicious eating options. I like places with rooftop views. You do not have to go anywhere to see the city from the top. Also, I like when the owner is invested in the property. #feetdotravel
I was so happy when we arrived at this one, Ruth. I had no idea what to expect but couldn’t fault it. Great location too. It really ticked the boxes and Ghazi, the owner, was so sweet calling it his baby. 😉
What a lovely place in Beirut! I like the way you’ve organized this post with hashtag / subheads for each topic. Nice post!
Thanks, Sharon. The hashtags @paraphernalia.co only cover #thethingswelove – #eat #drink #explore #shop & #stay 😉
Looks like a lovely hotel! I particularly like the comfortable look of the outdoor pool area! #FeetdoTravel
The views from the rooftop pool area are magnificent! 🙂
Wow Beirut – it looked fab – loved the view from the top best place for a pool. Will check it out when we head that way on our travels – thanks – great review
Check out our Beirut Guide & Day Trips from Beirut when you get there too. It’s such an incredible city with fantastic locations 20-30km away too. We loved our Beirut adventure! 🙂
Looks lovely. Love the little burgers. Is it cold enough for the open fire? Is it by the sea (sorry, my geography sucks!)
It was definitely cold enough for an open fire. It snows in the mountains. Beirut is on the coast on the Mediterranean Sea. The view from the rooftop is of the sea. The Corniche in Beirut is so beautiful with rocky outcrops to fish from and fantastic seafood restaurants to dine at. I’ll add a map next time 😉
A perfect little hideaway in Beirut. Great find and certainly on the to-do list!
It actually is a bit of a hideaway, Scott. Very easy to find and in a great location but just tucked far enough into Monot Street not to be near traffic. It was an excellent hotel for our Beirut adventure. 🙂
